This is an all-classical music concert. Its performance pieces are all high-energy, some serious, some strange and mysterious, some comedic, and some just pure movement. It showcases the beauty and power of classical music and illustrates how well hip hop movement can interpret it. The resulting intensity of some of these pieces is palpable.

 

This is why, for FLY’s very first piece in 1995, Artistic Director Kathy Musick Wood chose classical music and why she has continued to create more and more classical pieces for FLY’s repertory.

 

This concert is exciting art and entertainment that any audience can appreciate. Young and old alike may realize that, they too, love classical music.

 

Composers whose music is featured include Stravinski, Debussy, Vivaldi, Kabalewskij, Muhoberac and Jenkins.
